Moots Mountaineer
So everybody scores big at some point. For some it's at 9th grade prom and for others its that bitchin' Trans Am that just needs a little bodywork. What you are gazing at here is what I consider to be a score of all scores. Back in the days when 8spd and the Girvin flex stem were the next big things I was meandering around the back streets of Boulder, CO when I happened upon a garage sale. I grilled the little girl up front running the lemon-aid stand asking how much she wanted for the big red bike hoping she would cut me a deal, "let me get my dad" she replied. Dad came out, said they were moving to CA, he had won the bike in a stage race (custom made for him) and had no room to move it. What came next were the words I will never forget, "well, I don't want to just give it away...how about $125"- Moots Mounts, Portage Pad, H2O braze-ons on the fork, hand painted decals- the whole shaw-bang.
